PC2 laboratory

A Physical Containment Level 2 (PC2) laboratory is planned for the Anderson-Stuart building. This laboratory will be available for use by all members of the Bosch Institute. The facility will contain a number of separate areas to allow for use of tissues or cells cultured from animals which have been genetically modified. It will also facilitate the safe development of viruses which can be used to deliver genetic material to study or alter cell function and the culture of bacterial cells with certain genetic modifications.

The Bosch Institute Molecular Biology Officer will run the facility.

The proposed facility is essential for investigators to retain currency with medical research involving genetic technologies in a safe working environment.
