Molecular & Cellular Biology of Leukaemia Unit
Head of laboratory:
The main research interest of this group is molecular abnormalities in haematological malignancies, and this laboratory represents one of the earliest molecular diagnostic laboratories for haematological malignancy in Australia. In the last few years this group has participated in the Australasian Leukaemia and Lymphoma Group's clinical trial program in acute promyelocytic leukaemia (APL), and has an active research program concerned with the molecular analysis of APL cells. This laboratory has also established molecular assays relevant for patients with idiopathic hypereosinophilic syndrome and chronic eosinophilic leukaemia.
